|---|---|---|
| Development of the analytical capabilities of the TIMES-PL model and preparation of national energy development scenarios to 2050, with particular emphasis on the integration of the power system and district heating sector (2025) |
Update and further development of the TIMES-PL model and its district heating and extended demand modules, together with preparation of long-term scenarios for Poland's energy system up to 2050, focusing in particular on the integration of the National Power System and the district heating sector.
|
|
| Low-temperature district heating networks (2024) |
Modelling the transformation of district heating systems in Poland and providing quantitative results for the period 2020-2050, including installed thermal capacity, district heat production, CO2 emissions and investment costs. The work was carried out for TEP Energy GmbH and contributed to the Forum Energii report on low-temperature district heating networks.

| Development of the analytical capabilities of the TIMES-PL model and support for its use at NCAE (2024) |
Further development of the TIMES-PL model for analyses supporting government strategic documents, including improvements in power adequacy modelling, integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage, links between the electricity and district heating sectors, local energy structures and reporting interfaces.
|
|
| Full operational implementation of the TIMES-PL model at NCAE and energy development scenario analysis to 2050 (2023) |
Full operational implementation of the TIMES-PL model at NCAE, further development of the representation of demand sectors and preparation of scenario analyses of Poland's energy system development up to 2050.
|
|
| Development and implementation of the TIMES-PL model at NCAE and extension of the model to selected demand sectors (2022) |
Development and operational implementation of the TIMES-PL model at the National Centre for Energy Analysis (NCAE), together with an extension of the model covering selected energy demand sectors.
|
|
| Transformation Pathways for the District Heating Sector |
Establishing the economic and technical characteristics of the transformation pathways of the district heating sector in terms of technological changes in response to regulations resulting from climate policy. A system-based holistic approach was applied to conduct the study with the use of a mathematical energy system model.

|
| REfLEX - Analysis of the European energy system under the aspects of flexibility and technological progress |
AGH team was responsible for the development of the TIMES-HEAT-EU model for the analysis of the development of district heating and cogeneration systems in the European Union countries. Team analyzed
the possibility of developing district heating systems powered by district heat, primarily generated in cogeneration units, taking into account the possibility of heat storage and the use of P2H technology. H2020, GA-No. 691685.

| Plan for Climate and Energy |
Preparation of the energy balance and greenhouse gas emissions for the needs of the preparation of the Regional Plan for Climate and Energy for the Malopolskie Voivodeship
|
Resolution of the Board of Malopolskie Voivodeship |
| Heat map for Krakow |
In this work an attempt was made to estimate the demand for useful heat for heating, ventilation and preparation of usable hot water using GIS-based tools. Geospatial data from different sources were
combined and harmonised. The calculations were carried out at the level of individual buildings within the city limits of Cracow based on unit indicators of seasonal heat demand.

| ESA2 - Energy System Analysis Agency |
AGH team was responsible for the modeling the development of the heat generation sector in Poland - construction of the TIMES-HEAT-PL model. Bottom-up approach, in which the demand side included 48
classes of buildings, separated due to their type, energy intensity and availability of energy infrastructure. KIC InnoEnergy Innovation Project.

| ENERGEO - Earth Observation for monitoring and assessment of the environmental impact of energy use. |
The main objective of the EnerGEO project was to develop a global strategy for an integrated assessment of the current and future environmental and ecosystem impacts of energy resources exploitation.
This strategy was developed using Earth Observation Systems (SEO).Different kind of energy modeles were applied.

| OPF - Impact of new EU regulations on scarcity pricing and system services on the Polish electricity market, including capacity and balancing market. |
Comparison of market models: Copper plate vs. LMP. Two models for energy and power flow optimization were developed (one based on the NEOS system). Built-in models optimize energy supply for one day
with high temporal resolution, which allows to obtain a good estimate of selected characteristics of the analyzed market types.

|
| GIPH - Preparation of a forecast of the Polish economy's demand for hard coal and lignite as an energy source for the power industry in the 2050 perspective |
Carrying out computer calculations of the optimal fuel-technological mix for the assumed long-term energy scenarios. Team developed a methodological concept, planned the work of the team, took part in
the development of assumptions for scenario calculations, developed a model for optimising the development of generation capacity and conducted all research related to modelling the development of the national power system in the long
term.
